I'm an aunt for the third time. Nadra Nadine was born on May 22nd. how cute, huh?
What's the best gift you received this year?
i received a gorgeous hot pink robe that comes down to my ankles from bath and body works which is the comfiest, squooshiest softest robe IN THE WORLD. but i think he topped it with 1/4 carat white gold diamond earrings. they're gorgeous and sparkly. i've never had diamonds before in my life, i didn't know what i was missing. they're so bright and shiny. Josh even did it up real cute. we were sitting on the couch after we had unwrapped everything and he's like "we did a good job with our tree... but that red bulb in the middle looks kind of off..." and i looked and there's a small gold box with a gold bow on it tucked into the tree. so cute.
Alan never gave me diamonds and we were together nearly 3 years... Josh and i have been together not even 3 months! he's a keeper. ;)
What was the one thing that you wanted badly that made you do something ridiculous?

this is definitely ridiculous to a lot of people, not so much to a lot of others. last year, there was a laptop on sale for $250 at best buy. i've wanted a laptop since i was about 12. we left the apartment around 8 p.m. on thanksgiving night (best buy opened at 5 a.m.) just to check out the line. there were about 50 people there already, so we joined the line and were there for 9 hours, plus another 2 hours waiting to get the computer. they ended up running out of the $250 laptops, but i got a voucher for a nicer one for $349. i don't regret it, but i won't do it again.

these are the decorations we bought from Target the other day (minus the tree). we haven't put up the tree yet (obviously), but we plan on doing it Tuesday. Maybe. maybe we will wait until saturday when Alan moves out, but then it'll already be the 22nd (only 3 days before christmas). i'm ready to get completely in the spirit. more pictures when we put the tree up.

My favorite winter drink has become the breakfast blend tea at Port City Java. Since I've moved downtown (and especially since the whole Josh/Alan thing), i've been coming to this particular PCJ a LOT. today, when i walked in, the guy greeted me by NAME and then knew which tea i wanted. i've never been a "regular" anywhere, so this was pretty exciting for me.
